The biggest Caribbean street celebration in North America. Over a million people fill Eastern Parkway every Labor Day Monday for the West Indian American Day Parade, organized by WIADCA since 1969.
The morning kicks off with J’Ouvert — a pre-dawn mas tradition from Trinidad where revelers cover themselves in paint, powder, and mud before the sun rises. By mid-morning, the official parade begins at Schenectady Avenue and rolls west down Eastern Parkway to Grand Army Plaza.
