The pre-dawn street celebration that opens Labor Day carnival in Brooklyn, with steelbands, paint and powder. Organized by J’Ouvert City International since the 1990s, it runs from Flatbush Avenue along Empire Boulevard and down Nostrand Avenue to Rutland Road.
